Chaz :in Parts was released earlier this week. So glad I get to see behind the scenes of Chaz Bundick and his creative process at home. The 15-minute documentary was filmed during the recording of his latest released album What For?. Yeah, I love Toro y Moi and Les Sins very much.
“A NEW PLACE 2 DROWN” is an art project recently released by one of my favorite musicians, King Krule (Archy Marshall) and his brother Jack Marshall. Drawing inspirations from their childhood experiences living in South London, the brothers showcased their creative processes through music, visual art, poetry, and a short film produced by Will Robson Scott. In the short film, I am especially interested in seeing moments of King Krule making beats on the MPC, and the two of them creating art together in their home studio. The ANP2D book is now available for purchase on their website as well as a full length album available for streaming on Spotify.
French composer, Chassol, has recently been featured at the Red Bull Music Studio for his full length released album Big Sun. By utilizing natural rhythms and melodies from nature, speech, and ambient sounds through looped visuals, Chassol’s melodic harmonies create a vivid display of different cultures and people through his sense of musicality in a unique way. It is truly amazing how he uses music to break down barriers of languages and connect his audience with his travelling experiences through a new form of improvised music. On top of that, it is officially announced in an interview with Gilles Peterson that he will be on the new Frank Ocean album, stay tuned.
